Winter – increased cosiness

Through the coldest months, Appeal’s award-winning ULTRA Smart Blinds (powered by a rechargeable battery, with no wiring or dangling cords) can be lowered to ward off bad weather whether you are at home – through simple voice activation via Alexa or Google Hub – or, via an app on your phone or tablet, when you’re away at work or on holiday.

Voice activation means that if a storm rolls in, you can instantly lower all the blinds in the house with a phrase (try “Snowmageddon!” or “There’s a twister a’comin’!”) for added insulation. (Did you know, the average house loses 20% of its heat through uncovered windows, and the more glass you have, the higher that number is.) ULTRA Plus’s remote app also allows you to manage your blinds (as well as Philips Hue bulbs and devices on smart plugs) while you’re out. You can set winter scenarios to ensure you come home to a cosy ambience. And you can also add to your security measures by setting the blinds to open and close blinds at unpredictable times if you’re out.

Spring – create an extra room

As the year continues, our gaze is drawn towards the garden, but it may not quite be the weather to head outdoors. Sometimes, the theory of glass-dominated rooms can be more attractive than the reality – it can be too cold at times and uncomfortably hot at others. And plants and furnishings can suffer from long exposure to UV light.

Summer – make indoor-outdoor flow work
