Over the past year we have donated over £5,000 to Dartmouth Caring, a West Country charity dedicated to providing help and practical support to older and vulnerable residents living in Dartmouth and the surrounding areas.

The money raised will help the Dartmouth Caring team work closely with the community and local medical and care services to provide healthcare, financial and emotional support ensuring people remain independent and in their own homes for as long as possible.

Speaking about the fundraising, Appeal chairman Michael Madigan said: “I am thrilled that we have been able to work with Dartmouth Caring over the last year and to make a contribution to the vital service they provide. They are a great example of how a local community group can offer support in a personal way and what can be achieved when local communities pull together.”

Alison Stocks, Manager and Coordinator of Dartmouth Caring, said: “This year’s support by Appeal has provided the charity with funding which will allow us to help those who are less able in our community. They have also promoted the charity and its achievements through their website and social media which has raised awareness to a wider audience. Our chair, Dee Nutt MBE, our Trustees, our staff; our volunteers and indirectly many clients would like to thank Michael Madigan and all those at Appeal for this generosity.”

We’ve been following the lives of individuals helped by Dartmouth Caring over the past 12 months. To read more about their work, visit the Dartmouth Caring page on our blog.
