We are delighted to support the work of Dartmouth Caring, our chosen West Country charity and will donate 35p for every brochure requested.

Each month we’ll be highlighting the fantastic work that Dartmouth Caring do to help the elderly and vulnerable residents in Dartmouth and surrounding areas.

Robert lives alone, with no family in the area and he felt lonely and isolated. He has a failing memory and Dartmouth Caring first assisted him by putting a care package in place, providing home visits and recently helped him gain a place at a day care home, twice a week.

Robert is now an active and lively member of the Musical Memory Cafés. Dartmouth Caring provided a volunteer driver to drive him to and from each session and Robert really enjoys attending. He’s a social man with a great sense of fun and enjoys interacting with other members of the Memory Cafes as well as helping out which makes him feel valuable and helpful.

The Musical Memory Cafes give Robert the chance to chat, have fun and see his friends. He also loves to dance and once took another member and led her around the floor, dancing, jiving and swinging!

Robert continues to live in his own home with support and Dartmouth Caring keep his family updated, who are reassured he is well looked after.
