We’re extremely proud of all our blinds here at Appeal Home Shading, but today we’d like to shine the spotlight on one type in particular. Our Original French Pinoleum blinds are a perfect way to enhance a home. They’re ideal for giving rooms a light and relaxing atmosphere. They’re designed to let in a soft, dappled light that is remarkably calming and they have a quiet sophistication about them.

They also seem to attract a lot of curiosity. There’s something about them that leaves people wondering exactly how they’re put together, more so than our other blinds. We’re always happy to answer questions from our customers, so we thought we’d explain how French Pinoleum blinds are made.

Making French Pinoleum Blinds

We suspect that the reason they trigger inquisitive minds is because of the material from which they’re made. French Pinoleum blinds consist of delicately woven wood reeds, so they stand out from the alternatives. They have a different feel to fabric or metal blinds and give rooms a more traditional vibe. French Pinoleum blinds would seem out of place in an office building, but they’re delightful when used in conservatories, orangeries, garden rooms or anywhere with lots of house plants.

Strictly speaking, they’re only proper French Pinoleum blinds if they’re made in France. They’re handwoven by expert craftsmen, but the story doesn’t end there. The Pinoleum fabric is shipped to the UK and here, they start to resemble their final form. They’re cut to size by our computer-controlled lasers, which are pre-programmed with the precise measurements requested by the customer. This ensures they meet the exact size and shape requirements and reduces the risk of mistakes.

The Finishing Touches

Once that’s done, all that remains is fitting the remaining components. If the customer has opted for manual control, our technicians will fit the pull cord or the operating pole. If they’ve decided to go for the motorised/automated option, they’ll install the motor and operating system, then make any necessary last-minute adjustments.

All that’s left to do then is transport the blinds to their new home and install them. Our staff can synchronise the blinds with either an Alexa or Google Nest device, or set them up for remote or voice activation. Once they’re up, the homeowner will have a delightful new set of French Pinoleum blinds. This lends a traditional vibe and looks amazing, but it has one other bonus. Our French Pinoleum blinds are all made with sustainable materials, so they’re an environmentally friendly shading choice. We realise this is becoming increasingly important and you can rest assured that these new blinds have been designed to be as green as possible.

While their creation might involve new technologies like lasers, the biggest selling point for French Pinoleum blinds is their classical vibe. They’re one of the oldest designs available, and while the techniques used to make them have changed, they still lend a classical air where they’re installed.
