We are very pleased to announce that we’ve renewed our membership of the British Blind and Shutter Association (BBSA). Here at Appeal Shading, we pride ourselves on making high-quality, energy-efficient, safe products. We are delighted that such a prestigious organisation recognises our hard work and dedication.

BBSA Membership

The British Blind and Shutter Association

The BBSA is the only national trade association to cover the shading industry. They ensure standards of product, service and fairness remain consistent throughout the sector. The BBSA is a trusted name, and membership requires a high level of professionalism. Members must undertake extensive training, abide by the Codes of Practice, and commit to child safety. Appeal Shading has been a member of the BBSA for many years now. Having our membership renewed is an indication of the faith they place in us, and we are very proud to be included among the leading names of the shading business.

The BBSA also works closely with their partners in the European Solar Shading Organisation (ES-SO) to share best practices and information. When you hire the services of a BBSA member, you can be sure you’re getting the very best that the UK shading industry has to offer.

Make It Safe

The Make It Safe Campaign

As part of this, we would also like to announce that Appeal are continuing our support of the Make It Safe campaign. Make It Safe is the BBSA’s dedicated child safety campaign and has been running since 2009. It is committed to promoting window blind safety in homes, public buildings and wherever children may be present.

The campaign has worked closely with European standards bodies to ensure the development of new standards for window blinds. The BBSA also works alongside Government Trading Standards organisations, such as the Royal Society For The Prevention Of Accidents, to ensure that suppliers of blinds and shutters (and those who use them) receive expert advice.

The Make It Safe Campaign has an excellent reputation and has been referenced throughout Europe. The BBSA has been involved in the EU’s International Product Safety Week in Brussels and has been featured in presentations in Italy, China and more.

Our membership of the BBSA and involvement in Make It Safe demonstrates is part of our ongoing commitment to blind and shutter safety. If you would like to know more, you are welcome to contact us. Our friendly design consultants will be happy to speak with you.
